Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead prevention, control, and education across our hospital network. You will partner with quality and safety teams to monitor care, promote evidence-based practices, and support regulatory readiness to achieve zero harm and optimal outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field or public health, 5 years in healthcare, and CIC certification within 3 years of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, public health, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical environment.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 3 years of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid computer skills and ability to analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention, control, and education at the entity level.
• Collaborate with quality & safety teams to analyze clinical care and promote evidence-based practices.
• Identify and report communicable diseases per state and federal regulations.
• Support regulatory readiness and develop infection prevention policies and plans.
