Sinclair is currently seeking a dynamic Regional Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for direct support and guidance in various functional areas of human resources for multiple locations in the mid-Atlantic and southeast.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and policies, with the ability to effectively operate as a business partner to support local HR representatives and supervisory/management staff. The home location for this position will be at our station, WPDE/WWMB-TV, in Conway, SC. This is a full-time, hybrid position with at least 3 in-office days per week. Visits to other TV stations including some overnight travel will be required.

While no day will be exactly the same, you’ll be involved in a variety of HR functions, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting the best employees in broadcasting
  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of our people, our work and our culture
  • Manage HR operations within a region and function as an on-site HR representative as needed
  • Advise managers, local HR representatives and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a positive work environment.
  • Coaching and advising management on issues such as employee performance and development, addressing employee concerns, and disciplinary actions
  • Investigate complaints and resolve conflicts in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, including FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, and EEO
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of multiple HR related systems, including Oracle Cloud HRIS.
  • Provide guidance to local HR representatives on recruitment and hiring, administration of leave, onboarding/offboarding, benefit and compensation programs, UC, safety, and WC
  • Management and HR Training
  • Conduct field visits and HR audits
  • Execute Corporate HR assignments and initiatives and provide support for other tasks as assigned

Required Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related program of study
  • 7+ years of HR generalist or business partner role
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Broadcast or related media experience is preferred
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office is expected
  • Previous HRIS experience, Oracle HRIS experience is a plus
