Job description

Sinclair is currently seeking a dynamic Regional Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for providing support and guidance across various HR functions for multiple locations in the mid-Atlantic and southeast regions.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and policies, with the ability to operate effectively as a business partner to support local HR teams and management staff. The position is based at our station, WPDE/WWMB-TV, in Conway, SC. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring at least 3 days in-office per week. Travel to other TV stations, including some overnight stays, will be necessary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting and developing our broadcasting team members
• Understanding our people, work environment, and culture deeply
• Managing HR operations within the region and serving as an on-site HR representative as needed
• Advising managers, HR representatives, and employees on HR policies and best practices to foster a positive work environment
• Coaching management on employee performance, development, and disciplinary issues
• Investigating complaints and resolving conflicts promptly
• Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, and EEO
• Maintaining knowledge of HR systems such as Oracle Cloud HRIS
• Guiding local HR teams on recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, compensation, safety, and workers' compensation
• Providing HR and management training
• Conducting field visits and HR audits
• Supporting corporate HR initiatives and other assigned tasks

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• At least 7 years of experience in HR generalist or business partner roles
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
• Experience in broadcasting or related media is preferred
• Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with HRIS systems, with Oracle HRIS experience being a plus
