Job description

We are seeking an experienced Regional Human Resources Manager with a strong background in unionized environments to lead HR operations across the Midwest. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner, adept at managing employee relations, labor negotiations, and compliance while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Union Management: Lead labor relations, including collective bargaining, grievance handling, and contract administration in unionized settings.
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring consistency across multiple locations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as union agreements.
  • Policy Development: Create and maintain HR policies that support organizational goals and comply with legal and union requirements.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve workplace disputes, maintaining positive relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • Training & Development: Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in a unionized environment. Proven track record in labor negotiations, collective bargaining, and grievance resolution. Experience managing HR operations across multiple locations is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of labor laws (e.g., NLRA, FLSA) and HR best practices. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders. Ability to navigate complex employee relations issues with diplomacy and professionalism. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
