Continental Electrical Construction Company is seeking an experienced Area HSE Manager to provide leadership and strategic oversight for health, safety, and environmental programs across multiple construction projects in the Chicagoland region.

You will partner with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements while fostering a proactive safety culture on mission critical, data center, healthcare, commercial, and renewable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in construction or related industries
• Minimum 5 years leading HSE programs across multiple projects or locations
• Experience supporting high-risk construction environments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, EPA regulations
• Proven leadership, communication and coaching skills

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE leadership across multiple active construction projects within your region.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, and operations to integrate safety into all phases of project execution.
• Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety observations to identify risks and ensure compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
• Review JHAs, AHAs, Pre-Task Plans and Safe Work Plans.
• Support subcontractor safety management and client relationships.
• Analyze safety performance metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coach and mentor project HSE managers and craft employees on HSE expectations.
• Support environmental compliance programs and regulatory documentation.
• Prepare HSE reports and dashboards for leadership and clients.
