Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an Area Human Resources Manager to lead HR strategy and operations across multiple Sunrise communities, with travel to Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem. You will oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, HRIS/ATS maintenance, employee relations, compliance, and performance management, partnering with department leaders to drive engagement.

The role includes ensuring audit readiness, attending monthly compliance controls, and contributing to a positive team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years HR experience in senior living or healthcare preferred.
• Supervisory and employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes
• Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members
• Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation
• Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims
• Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management
• Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations
• Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning
• Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff
• Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC)
