Position Description Summary

The North American division of Lagardère Travel Retail, Paradies Lagardère, has been pioneering trends, developing innovative shopping and dining options, and delivering engaging experiences for airport travelers across North America for over 70 years. As part of a company with over 10,000 employees, you will play a critical role in strategic partnerships with Regional Directors, implementing HR strategies that support operational excellence, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and foster a culture of engagement, retention, and performance. The role requires a proactive leader who can balance strategic planning with a hands-on approach, driving talent development, workforce planning, and employee relations initiatives across your region.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Lead HR operations for multiple airport locations within the assigned region.
  2. Partner with regional leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  3. Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  4. Manage employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution fairly and consistently.
  5. Provide guidance on workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding.
  6. Oversee performance management, coaching, and development plans for staff and management.
  7. Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and retention, and identify improvement opportunities.
  8. Support training initiatives to uphold First-Class service standards, safety, and compliance.
  9. Facilitate change management during business transformations.
  10. Collaborate with centralized HR functions like Benefits, Payroll, Learning & Development, HRIS.
  11. Serve as a trusted advisor to site leaders, providing strategic counsel and understanding of people risks.
  12. Lead status/update calls with site locations.
  13. Design and implement policies to optimize productivity.
  14. Support talent management, including succession planning and performance assessment.
  15. Drive talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing and interviewing.
  16. Analyze exit interview data and reports to identify trends and solutions.
  17. Counsel associates on wellness, leaves, and company programs.
  18. Discuss company compensation and benefits programs.
  19. Prepare and analyze HR reports and statistics.
  20. Advise on complex employee relations issues and monitor progress.
  21. Participate in creating sustainable HR strategies.
  22. Handle special projects as assigned.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Knowledge of employment law (e.g., Wage and Hour, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC)
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal laws
  • Strong communication skills for all organizational levels

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial experience
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3 years in a multi-site or regional role
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, or food & beverage preferred
  • HR certifications (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) are a plus
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • Availability for some nights, weekends, and holidays
