Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a seasoned Regional Director of Human Resources to lead and advance HR strategies across the Houston region. You will guide a team of HRBPs, partner with field leaders, and drive talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.

The role emphasizes strong HR compliance, data-driven decision making, and the ability to implement change across multiple markets, with travel to market sites as required.

Qualifications

• Education BS / BA in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• HR certification preferred but not required.
• Experience 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years of HR leadership experience with responsibility for leading and developing a team.
• Broad HR experience across multiple disciplines, including employee relations, talent management, organizational development, compensation, recruitment, and labor relations.
• Experience leading talent review, succession planning, performance management, and leadership development processes.
• Experience using data and metrics to identify trends, inform HR solutions, influence business decisions, and measure outcomes.

Responsibilities

• HR Partnership and Regional Leadership: Partner with Field leadership to align HR practices with regional business priorities and build strong relationships with Corporate HR to support initiatives.
• Team Management: Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of HRBPs across the region.
• Talent and Leadership Development: Support talent development, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
• Employee Relations, Compliance and Labor Relations: Guide complex employee relations, ensure compliance, and address labor relations matters.
• HR Programs, Data, Technology and Change: Leverage data and HR systems to improve organizational effectiveness and support regional priorities.
• Leadership Standards and Other Responsibilities: Model leadership, travel 25–35% for market visits, and align with executives.
