Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, seeks an innovative leader to serve as the inaugural Special Assistant to the Chancellor/Executive Director for Healthcare Workforce Initiatives. This on-site role will drive a regional strategy to strengthen health and economic outcomes in Western North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience in healthcare workforce development, healthcare administration, higher education, economic development, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Experience securing or supporting grant-funded initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Establish a regional healthcare workforce coalition.
• Convene regular regional stakeholder meetings.
• Develop and publish a healthcare workforce white paper and strategic roadmap.
• Secure external funding to support workforce initiatives.
• Create formal partnership agreements with key healthcare and educational organizations.
• Launch or facilitate at least one new healthcare pipeline initiative.
• Develop a framework for measuring regional workforce outcomes and impact.
