Job summary

Western Carolina University seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as the inaugural Special Assistant to the Chancellor/Executive Director for Healthcare Workforce Initiatives. This on-site role will spearhead a regional strategy to strengthen health and economic prosperity in Western North Carolina.

The Director will convene partners across healthcare, higher education, K-12, workforce groups and foundations, chart a regional roadmap, secure funding, and advance new pipeline

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree as listed above.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare workforce development, healthcare administration, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Experience securing or supporting grant-funded initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Establish a regional healthcare workforce coalition.
• Convene regular regional stakeholder meetings.
• Develop and publish a healthcare workforce white paper and strategic roadmap.
• Secure external funding to support workforce initiatives.
• Create formal partnership agreements with key healthcare and educational organizations.
• Launch or facilitate at least one new healthcare pipeline initiative.
• Develop a framework for measuring regional workforce outcomes and impact.
