Job summary

SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System is seeking a senior Compliance Director to plan and direct the implementation of the compliance strategy across designated facilities. You will oversee compliance programs, audits, training, and reporting to senior leadership, ensuring adherence to federal and state laws and WVUHS policies.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, policy development, coordination with external auditors, and leadership of a small team to advance enterprise-wide compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field AND CHC certification.
• Or Associate degree plus 4 years compliance-related experience AND CHC certification within 1 year.
• Seven years in a healthcare organization with compliance, coding, or revenue cycle knowledge.
• Four years in healthcare management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage facilities or a region to ensure compliance across the WVUHS umbrella.
• Coordinate enterprise-wide compliance goals and initiatives with the Chief Compliance Officer.
• Implement system-level codes of conduct, policies, and procedures to prevent violations.
• Develop and maintain ongoing Compliance Program efforts, committees, and hotline support.
• Conduct annual risk assessments and contribute to internal audit and work plans.
• Coordinate auditing/monitoring and present reports to management with corrective actions.
• Lead compliance training for all levels, including Board, executives, and staff.
• Report to the Board and senior leadership on program status and risk assessments.
• Assist the CCO with external coordination and contracting reviews related to compliance.
