Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a safety-conscious driver to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials locally. You will inspect equipment, verify paperwork, and maintain DOT compliance while loading and unloading at sites.

Required are a High School Diploma/GED, prior commercial driving experience, and a valid CDL. 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Prior commercial driving experience required.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and time management abilities.
• Valid CDL (Class A/B/C as required)
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer before driving to ensure safety and equipment integrity.
• Review shipment records, manifests, container labeling, and paperwork for accuracy before transport.
• Drive within the local market and ensure DOT requirements and permits are current.
• Consult with customers about load conditions and paperwork to ensure proper transport to designated sites.
• Notify supervisor of any moving violations or accidents en route or from sites.
• Assist in loading/unloading materials using appropriate equipment.
• Assist with housekeeping as required and perform other duties as assigned.
