Job description

DeLallo is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Regional Grocery Sales Executive.

This role will be responsible for delivering volume growth and providing overall management and leadership within an assigned territory. The position is field-based and will require frequent travel throughout the territory, up to 75% overnight travel required. The Regional Grocery Sales Executive will grow DeLallo's volume and build market share within the geographical area. With a focus on SKU distribution, shelf management, merchandising, and pricing, the successful candidate will be selling and executing directly with our customers, brokers, and distributors. The Regional Grocery Sales Executive is responsible for developing trusting relationships with external and internal stakeholders and it is anticipated that the individual will meet and exceed the assigned territory's business plan.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Build and execute an Annual Business Plan for each assigned customer within the territory.
  2. Develop measurable volume, promotion, and distribution plans to achieve sales objectives with assigned customers, working with brokers/distributors to reach additional partners throughout the network.
  3. Ensure merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving objectives align with brand strategy and account goals.
  4. Facilitate presentations with customers during category reviews and engage brokers and distributors for additional support.
  5. Understand overall category and competitive trends.
  6. Utilize analytical resources to grow distribution and develop pricing strategies.
  7. Drive quality business communication and cross-functional interaction with brokers, distributors, internal sales, marketing, and customer service.
  8. Monitor weekly and monthly sales performance to ensure delivery of business plans.
  9. Establish and maintain productive relationships with decision-makers at key customers.
  10. Track and evaluate market threats and develop strategies to win.
  11. Build trusting relationships with customer management levels.
  12. Assess customer strategies to align with our goals and determine distribution and marketing approaches.
  13. Conduct special projects as needed.
  14. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (5+ years in CPG sales).
  2. Strong negotiation skills.
  3. Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  4. Exceptional problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  5. Experience in key account management.
  6. Ability to adapt to evolving roles.
  7. Experience managing brokers and distributors is highly preferred.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  9. Strong analytical skills and ability to use syndicated data.
  10. Effective negotiation skills.
  11. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  12. Ability to conduct meetings at high levels.
  13. Category and brand knowledge is a plus.
