Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in government relations, community relations, or public affairs.
• Valid CA Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community and government engagement activities that support university priorities by building partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, business organizations, and local government representatives.
• Coordinate engagement efforts with key regional partners and stakeholders in support of university initiatives and government relation activities; assists with government advocacy.
• Oversee coalitions of community, nonprofit, and business organizations around common interest areas with the university.
• Monitor community issues and stakeholder concerns, analyze potential impacts to university initiatives, and provide updates and recommendations to the AVP of External Relations.
• Gather and evaluate community feedback to identify emerging issues, inform outreach efforts, and support the development of engagement activities.
