Job summary

Heidelberg Materials seeks an Associate General Counsel in Irving, TX to advise Southwest Region leadership on commercial transactions, employment law, regulatory compliance, litigation, and risk mitigation. You will draft and negotiate agreements, support regional operations, and back strategic initiatives with practical legal guidance.

Reporting to the North America GC/CCO, the role offers a pay range of $172,170–$229,563.32 plus incentives, comprehensive benefits, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• JD and bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum of 7 years of legal experience in corporate/in-house/regional counsel roles.
• Strong knowledge of commercial transactions, contracts, regulatory compliance, employment law, and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted legal advisor to Southwest Region leadership.
• Advise on commercial transactions, employment law, regulatory compliance and litigation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate supply, distribution, real estate, and service contracts.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks while supporting business priorities.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and claims with internal and outside counsel.
• Support compliance with federal, state and local requirements and safety regulations.
• Deliver compliance training and support policy implementation in regional teams.
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and strategic initiatives.
• Participate in regional planning and partner with leadership on operational excellence.
