Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Princeton, NJ is seeking an Operations Controller to serve as the strategic financial partner for regional planning and forecasting. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance management, collaborating with regional leaders to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

The role requires strong FP&A and controllership experience, with a hybrid work model (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) and travel ~50% to field offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
5–8+ years of FP&A, operations finance, accounting, or controllership experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and partner with cross functional teams.
Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem solving skills with proficiency in ERP, Excel, and BI tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, and long range financial projections for the assigned region.
Partner with regional leadership to translate operational drivers into accurate financial forecasts and business plans.
Oversee month end close activities, financial reporting, KPI tracking, and compliance with accounting policies.
Monitor performance against plan, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve business results.
Serve as the primary financial liaison between regional operations and business segment leadership.
Support strategic initiatives through scenario modeling, investment analysis, and resource allocation recommendations.
Drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational performance processes.
