Job summary

Stevens Transport in Dallas, Texas, seeks a Fleet Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols across multiple locations in the region, ensuring regulatory compliance and reducing accidents.

You will design safety training for drivers and staff, analyze incident data, coordinate investigations, and collaborate with HR and maintenance to sustain a safety-first culture throughout our fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Safety Management, or a related field.
• Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Certification in Transportation Safety (e.g., Certified Director of Safety, Certified Safety Professional) is preferred.
• Proven experience in fleet safety management, preferably within transportation or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and other safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within the region as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Design and conduct safety training programs for drivers, mechanics, and other staff members.
• Analyze accident and incident reports to identify trends and root causes; develop mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with regional managers, fleet supervisors, and stakeholders to promote a safety-first culture.
• Track and analyze safety performance metrics; prepare reports for senior management.
• Coordinate responses to accidents and emergencies; lead investigations.
• Continuously review and improve safety programs based on best practices.
