Job summary

Border States Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Specialist based in Nashville, TN, to partner with regional leadership and drive fleet performance and safety programs across multiple locations.

You will analyze operations, develop recommendations, and act as a liaison between the Regional Fleet Manager, branch admins, and drivers. Responsibilities include hands-on training on Geotab/Lytx/Descartes, evaluating risks, improving driver safety, and ensuring DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience, required.
• 3+ years in fleet operations, transportation, logistics or related field.
• Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Strong knowledge of fleet management tools: Geotab, Lytx, Descartes, Fleetio, Samba Safety.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on training for branch administrators and drivers on fleet systems.
• Evaluates fleet operations to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyzes driver performance data and develops improvement plans.
• Advises branch leadership on qualification, onboarding, training, and retention.
• Evaluates fleet maintenance performance and lifecycle data for cost efficiency.
• Supports compliance with company and DOT standards, including renewals.
• Analyzes fleet metrics to identify trends and recommend actions.
• Partners with area leadership to identify gaps and best practices.
• Provides regular updates and performance reports on fleet metrics.
• Leads regional fleet improvement projects with independent judgment.
