Job summary

G.A. Rogers & Associates is seeking a strong finance leader to own the financial performance of a rapidly growing regional operation.

You will partner with senior operational leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights and manage GAAP/commercial accounting across multiple operating companies. You will drive budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, while digging into details such as reconciliations and close processes to ensure timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
• Experience supporting multiple locations, business units or operating companies.
• Strong GAAP accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Meaningful FP&A, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
• Experience partnering directly with non-finance business leaders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel.
• CPA and/or advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations or a rapidly growing multi-entity organization would be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial results.
• Review and, when necessary, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and other detailed accounting work.
• Maintain internal controls and financial discipline.
• Partner with corporate accounting on annual audit requirements.
• Ensure accurate project accounting and operational financial data.
• Play a key role in integrating newly acquired businesses.
• Partner across accounting, operations, IT and other functions during integration.
• Help bring new businesses onto consistent financial processes, reporting and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and create efficiencies across the region.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to finance and business professionals across multiple locations.
• Build strong relationships with operating leaders who may not report directly to you.
• Partner with finance leadership across the broader organization to share best practices and improve processes.
• Help develop the finance team as the region continues to grow.

Our client is a growing, multi-company organization looking for a strong finance leader to support an expanding regional operation.

This is a role for someone who wants to be in the business, not just reporting on it.

You'll work closely with senior operational leaders across several businesses, helping them understand what's happening financially, where the opportunities are and what needs attention. You'll own the financial performance of the region while bringing the accounting discipline needed to keep the numbers accurate and the business moving forward.

And this is definitely not a \"review the work from 30,000 feet\" position.

One day you may be advising leadership on an investment decision or analyzing profitability. The next, you may be digging into a reconciliation, resolving an accounting issue or stepping in to make sure close gets across the finish line.

The region is growing quickly, both organically and through acquisition, so there is a lot to build.

What You'll Do

Partner with the Business

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and the details.

You should bring strong accounting and financial leadership experience, but just as important is your ability to build credibility with operational leaders.

This role needs someone who can challenge the business when necessary, explain the \"why\" behind the numbers and become a trusted partner rather than simply the person delivering financial reports.

You'll likely bring:
