Job summary

ClimaCool Corp. is seeking a field service technician to provide onsite start-up, service, and support to customers across sites. You will coordinate site visits, troubleshoot equipment, and train customers on operation and maintenance.

The role requires travel to client sites, strong customer service, and the ability to communicate with internal teams. Proficiency with service reporting and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

  • AS/BS preferred or HVAC trade school completion.
  • Minimum 5 years HVAC and chiller experience (Commercial experience preferred).
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (required or attained within 90 days).
  • Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite start-up, service, and support to customers.
  • Coordinate field site visits with customers and perform post-visit follow-up as needed.
  • Travel to job sites to start up, commission, and assess operated equipment.
  • Provide remote technical support via phone or email when field support is not needed.
  • Produce well-written reports of field findings and complete required documentation on time.
  • Interface with Field personnel, reps, Engineering, and customers during problem resolution.

Job description

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for providing onsite start-up, service, and support to customers. The position will be responsible for communication with their customers to coordinate site visits and provide technical support and training. When field support is not needed, the position will provide technical support remotely by phone or email to assist customers in solving installation, performance, or operational problems. The position must have strong customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally of the company.

Essential Functions
  • Field Support
  • Communicate with customers to coordinate field site visits and follow-up post site visit as needed.
  • Travel to job sites to start up and commission ClimaCool products.
  • Travel to job sites to assess the operation of previously started-up equipment
  • Issue well-written, accurate reports of trip findings and activities and completing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Interface/interact as necessary with Field personnel, Rep agency, Engineering teams and customers during problem assessment and resolution
  • Provide on-site direction to personnel at job site locations when performing rework of product or setup of product
  • Product Knowledge
  • Knows and can explain ClimaCool product features/benefits.
  • Technical Skills
  • Understands fundamental HVAC concepts, including refrigeration and controls.
  • Can interpret equipment electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Understands the field installation of chillers, water source heat pump equipment and accessories.
  • Can use a laptop and other technology to access documents, use service software, and complete reports.

  • Promotes mutual respect while maintaining compliance to regulatory, ordinance or code requirements, and company policies and programs.

Skills & Abilities

Education: AS/BS preferred or HVAC Trade school completion

Experience: Minimum 5 years HVAC and chiller experience (Commercial experience preferred)

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Certificates & Licenses: HVAC license preferred; EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (required or attained within 90-days)

Other Requirements: The candidate must also be willing and able to travel domestically.
