Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking an Area Sales & Distribution Manager to lead a field-based team serving the Oklahoma City, OK and Wichita City, TX markets. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes strong people management, distribution optimization, and customer-focused execution.

You will travel to customer sites in the region, work in the field at least three days per week, and ensure DOT compliance while driving sales growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in sales, sales operations, or distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; DSD experience in food industry preferred.
• Understanding of financial/business requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience presenting to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead sales and distribution team to meet sales and DOT compliance goals.
• Drive in-store promotions and customer service to maximize sales.
• Optimize delivery truck utilization and routing.
• Oversee distribution, vehicle maintenance, DOT compliance, and checks.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members.
• Prepare and present financial and KPI reports to management.
• Monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain relationships with customers across sales, merchandising and operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and DOT policies.
• Travel in-field at least 3 days per week; overnight stays as needed.
