Job summary

Americans for Prosperity is seeking a Regional Field Manager for the Virginia Beach area to lead the full grassroots cycle, recruit volunteers, train canvassers, and represent AFP in the community.

You will build relationships with local leaders, supervise part-time staff, manage budgets and logistics, and design outreach campaigns to expand AFP's footprint across Virginia. A driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• An entrepreneurial mindset; take initiative, try new approaches and adjust quickly when something isn’t working.
• Grassroots organizing or advocacy work experience in campaigns or community groups.
• Strong relationship-building and people skills with sales/customer-relations instincts.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator who accepts feedback and works with staff and volunteers.
• Comfort with basic administrative/compliance work and MS Office knowledge.
• Experience managing or supervising part-time staff or contractors is a plus.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Virginia Beach as needed.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and grow a base of active volunteers, prioritizing those outside existing networks.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and advocacy groups to inform strategy.
• Supervise part-time canvassing contractors and Grassroots Coordinators with training and coaching.
• Represent AFP publicly; communicate well one-on-one and to groups, and speak on policy positions.
• Handle regional operations: budget, equipment, expense reports, and compliance.
• Design and run outreach, canvassing, phone, digital, events, and coalition-building to grow AFP's footprint.
