Job summary

Americans for Prosperity seeks a Regional Field Manager to own the grassroots cycle in Alexandria and surrounding counties. You will recruit and train volunteers, supervise canvassing teams, and represent AFP in the community.

Ideal candidates bring grass­roots organizing experience, strong relationship skills, and the ability to manage budgets and compliance. This role requires travel throughout Northern Virginia with a base salary of $60,000–$65,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience leading grassroots campaigns or nonprofit advocacy.
• Ability to recruit and train volunteers.
• Strong relationship-building with community leaders and coalitions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative work style.
• Willingness to travel across Alexandria, Northern Virginia and Prince William counties.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and grow a base of active volunteers, prioritizing people outside existing networks.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, advocacy groups, and local influencers to inform strategy.
• Supervise part-time canvassing contractors and coordinators, including training and performance management.
• Represent AFP publicly: communicate effectively one-on-one and to groups, create content, and articulate policy positions.
• Manage regional operations: budget, equipment, expense reports, and legal compliance.
• Design and execute outreach, canvassing, phone, digital events, and coalition-building to expand AFP's footprint in Virginia.
