Job summary

State of Louisiana's Division of Administration/Office of State Buildings in Monroe oversees maintenance of state buildings, supervises Maintenance Repairer Master, and manages both in-house work and contractor services. The role ensures preventive maintenance programs, contract compliance, and accurate maintenance records across facilities in the Monroe region.

The position supports operations in multiple regions, including the Monroe area, and reports to the Facility Maintenance leadership.

Qualifications

• Two years of the required experience must have been on-the-job.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance and preventive maintenance on all State-owned building systems and machinery, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and other building systems.
• Oversees the preventive maintenance program, maintains equipment files and ensures warranty maintenance is performed.
• Maintains repair records and prepares purchase requests; assists in bid specifications.
• Directly supervises Maintenance Repairer Master, assigns work, reviews performance, and coordinates with contractors and tenants.
