Job summary

MetroPlains Management is seeking an experienced Regional Facilities Maintenance team member. This role collaborates with management and handles day-to-day maintenance of the physical plant and grounds of residential and commercial properties, under the VP of Maintenance.

The candidate should have an associate degree or equivalent with 3–4 years of related experience, plus HVAC, EPA Universal, Boilers License, or Pool Certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education with 3–4 years related experience preferred.
• HVAC, EPA Universal, Boilers License and/or Pool Certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to relate to a diverse group.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly; occasional heavier lifting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance on the properties’ physical plant and grounds.
• Repair tasks across heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, and related areas.
• Provide training and support for other maintenance technicians as needed.
• Ensure work is professional, safe, and aligned with MetroPlains procedures.

This role will collaborate with our management teams, responsible for performance of the day-day maintenance operations of the physical lead and grounds of the residential and commercial property(ies). These responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with the policies of MetroPlains under the direct supervision of the VP of Maintenance.Summary of Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to work independently, to organize work, to establish priorities, to follow defined procedures, and to follow through in the completion of tasks.Ensure that work completed represents MetroPlains Managements culture.Oversee and occasionally assist in the completion of assigned service requests of the maintenance team related to repairs and upkeep of properties. This includes areas of heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, and other general repairs. Recommending replacement or repair, as necessary. Ensure that all work completed is professional and clean.Ensure that the required safety equipment is being used correctly.Provide ongoing input on continued property improvements for budget consideration. Participate in site meetings as needed.Ensure the attractive internal and external appearance of all buildings and grounds, which may include removing debris and weeds and reporting maintenance needs.Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills required for the position.Provide training and support for other Maintenance Technicians on more complex maintenance tasks as requested.May give work direction to other maintenance technicians and provide input regarding hiring decisions and performance appraisals upon the Maintenance Directors request.Complete special projects.Travel to other sites and/or locations may be required.Must possess a positive attitude and a can-do attitude.Other duties as assigned.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesMust have own hand tools, a valid driver's license, vehicle, and vehicle insurance.Must be willing to learn and utilize electronic work systems.Normal work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, although actual hours vary by location.May be required to work extended hours and weekends when needed.The job responsibilities are not all-inclusive but indicate the types of activities normally performed by the position. Responsibilities may be revised, and other responsibilities may be assigned.Education & ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent education with three to four years related experience and/or training preferred, or a combination of relevant work experience and education is required.Proof of any current certification/licenses in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, EPA Universal, Boilers License and/or Pool Certification.Ability to provide training and support on-site to other maintenance team members.Demonstrated support for MetroPlains Management maintenance procedures and policies.Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people.A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.Customer service skills are highly desirable.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work outside and will be exposed to cold, rain, wind, and other weather conditions customary to their location.Responsible for always acting in a safe manner and ensuring that other employees do not put themselves or others at risk; working safely is a condition of employment.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical DemandsMust be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds on a regular basis; on occasion will lift up to 100 pounds.Will use near vision at 20 inches or less to far vision of 20 feet or more; as well as depth perception to judge distance and spatial relationships.Must be able to shovel and remove snow where geographically applicable.Requires walking through buildings and exterior grounds daily.Must be able to bend, stretch, stoop, lift and reach on a frequent basis.Will involve expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.Total CompensationYour total compensation package includes your base salary, training and development programs, career growth opportunities, community volunteer opportunities, and comprehensive benefits package.
