Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities in the United States is seeking a Floating Facilities Manager to oversee daily operations and maintenance at a single installation for a temporary period, with extensive travel to other communities. You will negotiate contracts, supervise staff, and ensure OSHA/Safety compliance while coordinating with project leaders.

The role requires HVAC credentials, blueprints literacy, and strong budgeting/leadership.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in facilities management or equivalent.
• HVAC certification and blueprints reading ability.
• Budget forecasting and cost control experience.
• Strong computer and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of local codes, Hazmat, EPA and waste protocols.
• Experience with contractor negotiations and safety programs.
• Leadership and clear communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Yardi PM software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance across installations.
• Negotiate with contractors and manage bids and service agreements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, and regulatory standards.
• Forecast maintenance needs and manage budget adherence.
• Collaborate with Project Director and Community Manager.
• Travel frequently to multiple communities as needed.
• Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures.
