Job summary

South Texas College in Rio Grande City region seeks an External Affairs Coordinator to advance community partnerships and regional outreach. You will cultivate relationships with school districts, businesses, and government entities to raise awareness of STC programs and services.

You will coordinate meetings, campus visits, and events with campus leadership and external partners, maintain records, and report outcomes to the Director of External Affairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• At least two (2) years of professional work experience.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, school districts, employers, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, governmental entities, and civic partners within the assigned geographic service area to strengthen the College's regional presence and advance institutional priorities.
• Coordinates informational meetings, campus visits, and presentations with municipal, county, state, and federal stakeholders to increase awareness of College programs, services, and initiatives.
• Represents South Texas College at assigned community meetings, civic functions, professional associations, and regional events.
• Maintains accurate records of stakeholder contacts, outreach activities, partnership opportunities, referrals and follow-ups.
