Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to lead the estimating function for the assigned region. You will supervise staffing and work assignments, support project managers in procurement, and ensure accurate cost databases and bid packages for proposals.

The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and the ability to read drawings and specifications. Domestic and international travel (20–40%) may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. 10 years of related experience with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group including budgets, staffing, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Projects support with procurement including negotiations of purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and updates the estimating database.
• Provides coordination with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability for proposals.
• Reviews final estimates and proposal packages for accuracy and completeness for formal quotation.
