Job summary

Florida Power & Light Company seeks a seasoned environmental professional to implement and manage the Solar and Storage Environmental Management System (EMS) across the west Florida region. You will oversee water, wastewater, wildlife, and vegetation in line with environmental permits, while coordinating with agencies and internal teams to meet safety, reliability, and cost goals.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in Environmental Science, and travel with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with local flora, fauna, and habitats.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in analysis, problem-solving, compliance, leadership, and process/project management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation and management of the PGD Environmental Management System.
• Oversee site water, wastewater, wildlife, and vegetation in accordance with environmental permits.
• Manage regional aspects of environmental compliance for the west FL region for solar & BESS.
• Travel and overnight stays are required.
• Oversee adherence to SPCC and FRP requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Standardize processes, procedures, and techniques for repeatability.
• Train new and existing operations crew on compliance requirements.
• Coordinate contractors and set up contracts for ongoing compliance-related maintenance and monitoring.
• Prepare for and support internal and external environmental audits.
