Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Regional Engineering Manager to oversee engineering delivery across 10–15 sites in the US, driving CI initiatives and capital project execution. You will lead site engineers, manage budgets, line layouts, and system integrations to ensure consistent performance and cost control.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of engineering leadership in distribution/fulfillment, a BS in engineering, and a track record of managing complex multi-site programs with strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• BS degree in an engineering field (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Facilities/Maintenance) required.
• 7+ years of engineering experience with complex distribution center projects or management.
• 3-5 years of project management in distribution/fulfillment or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the delivery of consistent operational processes and results for 10–15 sites across the US.
• Provide engineering expertise and leadership to site-based engineers and staff.
• Lead scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, and cost control for CI projects.
• Drive the stage-gate process for process-based continuous improvement and innovation projects.
• Develop and maintain the CI roadmap aligned with sector strategy across the BU.

The Regional Engineering Manager role has a national salary range of $104,000- $198,000.

Job Description

To oversee and manage the delivery of consistent operational processes and results for a 10 – 15 sites across the US. Provides engineering expertise, and related functions to site based Engineers. Leads scope definition, design, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, cost estimating and control, implementation, system integration, documentation, report writing, start-up, and training. Provides leadership and direction to lower level engineering staff. Regional Engineering managers would be progressing the Sector engineering & innovation strategy and ensure consistency across the BU.

• Responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and managing the stage gate process for the implementation of process based continuous improvement & innovation projects from opportunity identification through delivery/stabilization.
• Develops, maintains, and executes the CI roadmap that aligns with sector strategy, accounting for both internal and external process and financial improvement.
• Directs and performs project management and engineering functions, including (but not limited to): scope definition, design, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, cost estimating and control, implementation, system integration, documentation, report writing, start-up and training.
• Design and install safe mechanical and automated systems and processes.
• Manage, Lead, Support and Develop the Field Engineering team within sector operations across the USA and Canada
• Select and manage outside engineering as required to meet project, customer, product, and capacity requirements. Selects and manages use of external vendors and contractors for engineering and maintenance-related projects.
• Stays abreast of technology enhancements within the industry. Considered expert by others within the field.
• Provides management of Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers and/or Engineering Technicians as assigned, including People Management responsibilities before.
• Leads and directs large, multi-site continuous improvement projects and implementation of solutions.
• Partners with customer to develop requirements and define solution sets.
• Partners with Business Development on potential new business to determine engineering impact.
• Develops business cases related to capital projects, including associated project plans and cost estimates. Navigates approval processes and manages installation of capital improvements.

Required Education And Experience

• BS degree in an engineering field, with particular emphasis on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Facilities, and/or Maintenance Engineering, required
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, with particular emphasis on complex distribution center implementation projects or engineering management, required
• Three to five years of project management experience in a Distribution/Fulfillment and/or engineering environment, required
