Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an Industrial Engineer Manager to support automated equipment integration in our distribution centers. You will contribute to design, implementation, testing, and go-live phases across multiple sites with emphasis on layout optimization and productivity gains.

The role requires strong experience with AutoCAD, JDA flowcharts, and data analysis tools (Excel/Access/SQL/Power BI), plus ability to lead large projects and communicate with customers effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years engineering experience.
• 1+ years experience in distribution, logistics, project management.
• Can read a JDA flowchart and understand productivity rates.
• Proficient in using AutoCAD and making layout changes.
• Mastered slotting and pick path knowledge to layout and active pick area.
• Fully understands layout needs based on equipment (aisle widths, MHE).
• Proficient at optimizing automated layouts and project management.
• Able to communicate projects and their impacts to customers.
• Knowledge of site KPI's and how to review KPI's to identify opportunities.
• Proficient in CI and identifying waste within an operation.
• Leads with initiative and can implement improvements.
• Capable of identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Support automation equipment implementation in distribution centers.
• Provide equipment layout and function expert advice to design/operations teams.
• Calculate equipment rates and targeted performance.
• Support equipment punch listing and rate testing.
• Support warehouse control system software design and testing.
• Educate operations on how to use new equipment.
• Perform data analysis of equipment rates and errors.
• Support operations in implementing maintenance agreements.
• Develop productivity estimates for processes interfacing with material handling equipment.

Job Description

To support the implementation of automated material handling equipment into our distribution centers. Typical equipment includes: conveyor, carton / tote sortation, unit picking, unit sortation, case shuttle storage systems. The automation engineering team supports our operations teams at our more automated distribution sites across multiple project phases: design, implementation, testing, go-live, and post go-live.

• Provides equipment layout and function expert advice to our design and operations teams.
• Calculates equipment rates and targeted performance
• Supports equipment punch listing and rate testing
• Supports warehouse control / execution system software design and test
• Supports and educates the operations team on how to use the new equipment
• Performs data analysis of equipment rates and errors
• Supports the operations team to implement equipment maintenance agreements
• Develops productivity estimates for processes that interface with material handling equipment
