Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an experienced estimator to manage and administer the estimating function for a regional group, including budgets, staffing and work assignments, and the standard policies.

You will collaborate with project managers to negotiate purchase orders and subcontracts, maintain cost databases, review bids for accuracy, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership. Travel 20%–40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 10 years of related estimating experience with at least 3 in supervision.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer estimating functions for a region, including budgets, staffing and work assignments.
• Implement estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Assist project managers in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders.
• Supervise preparation of market cost studies and maintain cost database.
• Review project details with regional leadership to determine strategies and resources.
• Coordinate with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability in proposals.
• Ensure standardized use of estimating systems and maintain the cost database.
