Job summary

Charter Next Generation, Inc. is seeking a Regional EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across our Wisconsin operations.

You’ll partner with site leadership to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and promote a safe, productive workplace. This onsite role requires 7+ years of EHS experience, CSP/CHMM preferred, and a proven ability to coach teams, conduct audits, and implement training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering, chemistry, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of EHS experience with 3+ years in manufacturing.
• EHS certifications such as CSP, CHMM preferred.
• Ability to coach and develop those working within their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Research emerging regulations and lead implementation of new EH&S requirements.
• Lead preparation, maintenance, and compliance of federal, state, and local EH&S reporting and permitting.
• Conduct EH&S assessments for hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Lead industrial hygiene functions and translate findings into risk-reduction solutions.
• Lead emergency response planning, evacuation, and incident investigation.

What You'll Do

• Research emerging regulations and lead implementation of new EH&S requirements, providing technical expertise and support for compliance and risk reduction
• Lead the preparation, maintenance, and compliance of federal, state, and local EH&S reporting and permitting
• Conduct EH&S assessments for chemical, biological, and physical hazards, documenting findings and driving corrective actions
• Lead industrial hygiene functions, including assessments and data interpretation, translating findings into practical risk-reduction solutions
• Lead emergency response, evacuation planning, and incident investigation, determining root cause and driving corrective and preventive action plans
• Establish and lead EH&S committees and engagement campaigns, and serve as the primary interface with local, state, and federal agencies
• Develop, interpret, and explain KPIs across business units, providing leadership to continually improve performance
• Build EH&S strategies that align with corporate objectives and reduce operational risk
• Conduct routine observations, inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and manage hazardous chemicals
• Lead the creation and delivery of EH&S training, including new hire orientation, contractor communication, and regulatory training (LOTO, arc flash, fire extinguisher, and more)
• Coach and develop other EH&S personnel, and influence EH&S performance across multiple plants and reporting lines
• Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and corrective/preventive action closure, serving as a primary first responder onsite
• Manage workplace injuries in accordance with workers' compensation practices and the transitional return-to-work program

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering, chemistry, or related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of EHS experience serving in an EHS/Safety/Environmental role and 3+ years relevant manufacturing work experience required.
• EHS certifications such as CSP, CHMM, etc. are preferred.
• Technical skills and knowledge of existing EHS standards and methodologies commensurate with assignments and current experience.
• Demonstrated ability to help identify and design various EHS risk assessment activities and associated follow-up communications with both EHS senior staff and stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
• Ability to coach, supervise, and/or develop those working within their assigned areas of responsibility.
