Job summary

Inotiv, Inc. is seeking an EH&S Area Specialist to lead and partner with site leaders across Boulder, Westminster, and Fort Collins to protect people, animals, and the environment while enabling compliant research operations.

The role covers compliance strategy, risk management, and incident investigation, with oversight of environmental permits, GLP/AAALAC-aligned practices, and regional EHS programs across three Colorado locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
• Equivalent combinations of education and directly relevant experience may be considered in accordance with company policy.
• Multi-site EHS responsibility within laboratory, vivarium, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, research, warehouse, or similarly regulated operations.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Strategy and Risk Management. Own and administer the regional EHS compliance strategy.
• EHS Management Systems, Assurance, and Reporting. Design, implement, and evaluate systems for procedures, permits, records, audits, and performance reporting.
• Incident, Occupational Health, and Emergency Management. Direct investigations of significant or complex events; provide GUIDANCE on return-to-work and emergency preparedness.
• Environmental Compliance and Sustainability. Serve as the regional subject-matter owner for environmental permits and programs.
• Laboratory, Vivarium, and Exposure Risk Management. Provide EHS consultation for chemical, biological, animal, ergonomic, PPE, and exposure-control risks.
• Contractor, Project, and Change Governance. Establish EHS expectations for high-risk contractor work and assess changes pre-startup.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
