Job summary

Switch is seeking an Operations Regional EHS Director based in Reno, NV to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple facilities. This role partners with Operations, Construction, Engineering, Facilities and Security to protect people, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance Switch's culture of safety.

You will build regional programs, coach EHS Managers, conduct audits, manage budgets, and lead trainings. Remote work is not available; travel within the region is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive Environmental, Health, and Safety experience.
• Experience leading EHS programs across multiple facilities or regions.
• Experience supervising and developing EHS professionals.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, safety audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Experience managing contractor safety programs.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across multiple facilities within the region.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for regional EHS Managers.
• Develop, implement, and improve regional EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Lead regional safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Oversee investigations for significant incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage EHS documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and site-specific safety plans.
• Oversee third-party safety consultants as applicable.
• Serve as liaison with regulators and insurers on EHS matters.
• Manage regional EHS budget and allocate resources.
• Deliver EHS training programs for employees and leadership.
• Lead regional safety meetings and cross-functional planning.
• Coordinate with Construction EHS teams for safe transitions.
• Identify trends and best practices to strengthen programs.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and root-cause investigations.
