Media Contacts Ltd in New York is seeking an experienced financial reporter stepping up to an editorial leadership role within a real estate-focused publication. You will inherit strong market relationships and guide a newsroom delivering market-moving insight for investors.

You will edit diary stories and scoops, shape longer features, and chair thought leadership discussions at events, building the team and advancing a bold editorial agenda.

Qualifications

• Experience in B2B financial journalism with strong knowledge of private real estate markets.
• Some editing experience and ability to give developmental feedback and copyediting.
• Track record of breaking off-diary news, impactful analysis and ideas about setting an editorial agenda.
• Capacity to lead reporters and contribute to newsroom leadership transitions.

Responsibilities

• Give substantive editorial feedback on reporters’ stories as well as editing copy and write compelling analysis & thought leadership content.
• Proactively build a contact book across real estate financiers, developers and agents to support the existing team's network.
• Contribute to the editorial agenda for the publication and chair thought leadership discussions and host roundtables at the organisation's events.
• Help onboard and support reporters, with scope to take on formal line-management responsibility as the team grows.
