Job summary

Food Bank of Iowa is seeking a Donor Relations Manager to develop and implement strategic engagement plans for monthly and mid-level donors.

The role leads donor-facing initiatives, including external events and regional relationship building across a 55-county service area. The candidate will cultivate partnerships with chambers, foundations and other stakeholders to advance fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Professional maturity, good judgment, integrity and honesty.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or three to five years of demonstrated success in fundraising
• Curiosity and genuine desire to help philanthropists meet their giving goals
• Ability and desire to be out of the office 50-75% of the time, meeting with prospects and donors
• Aptitude for quick analysis, interpretation and translation of information
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy, along with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deepen relationships with monthly donors and cultivate mid-level donors.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and thank individual donors; explore opportunities for major gifts.
• Lead regional relationship building and coordinate with regional partnership team.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
• Establish procedures and internal controls; incorporate volunteers when beneficial.
• Maintain relationships with chambers of commerce, community foundations and regional stakeholders.
