As Regional Distribution Sales Manager at Ruhrpumpen, you will be responsible for growing distribution and OEM sales in the Southeast to increase market share by managing the current network and adding additional channel partners where needed to meet sales goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Growing the indirect sales channel/distribution segment along with OEM accounts.
  • Evaluating the current channel’s effectiveness through joint sales calls (in person or virtual) and other contact methods to sell and market all Ruhrpumpen products.
  • Identifying, interviewing, and proposing new distributors to achieve sales goals.
  • Supporting and documenting growth within the company’s parameters for each distributor, managing, providing support/corrective measures, and professionally terminating ineffective channel partners if needed.
  • Maintaining proper record keeping and using the CRM system effectively.
  • Assisting distributors in increasing their competency in Ruhrpumpen products, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Helping distributor personnel become self-sufficient through electronic programs and materials for product selection, presentation, and quotation.
  • Providing feedback to the North American Distributor Sales Manager on distributor sales performance, expenses, competitive information, product development needs, and pricing.
  • Maintaining communication with distribution regarding goals, performance, promotional activities, campaigns, advertising, inventories, obsolescence, services, and new products.
  • Ensuring sales objectives are met considering market conditions and competition.
  • Collaborating with Market Managers to develop distribution channels to increase penetration.
  • Organizing scheduled sales training and assisting distributor personnel with sales and application issues.
  • Completing and following up on the Target Account Form program for each distributor salesperson.
  • Supporting distributor sales personnel in customer calls to penetrate accounts and grow territory sales.
  • Preparing and presenting sales reports and attending meetings and seminars.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness and ability to travel 60-70% within the region, including overnight stays.
  • Strong understanding of the Distribution Sales Channel and supporting company growth.
  • Responding promptly and carefully to distributor and customer requests, inquiries, and problems.
  • Maintaining positive relationships internally and externally, even under challenging circumstances.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in pumps and related products.

This position is based out of your home office, preferably near a major airport in the Southeast. The territory includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida.
