Job summary

State of Washington Dept of Children, Youth, and Families seeks Regional Disability Liaison (SHPC2) to support one designated region, with statewide reach. The role guides disability services within Child Welfare, ensuring equitable access and compliance with federal/state requirements.

Significant collaboration with staff, leadership, and ADA partners will be required. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, travel within-state, and opportunities to influence regional practice and policy

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 1 (SHPC1) or equivalent.
• OR a Bachelor's degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or related field with three years of professional experience in relevant programs.
• OR a Master's degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or related field with two years of professional experience.
• OR an equivalent combination totaling at least seven years of education and experience.
• Two years of paid social service experience must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing family-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated subject matter expert on child welfare practice for individuals with disabilities.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance to managers and staff during case consultations and staff meetings.
• Interpret social service programs, policies, and legal requirements related to disability services.
• Develop and strengthen service coordination with external community partners to expand resources.
• Maintain regional resource information and tracking processes for disability-related services.
• Collaborate with leadership to promote consistent policy interpretation and improved service delivery.
