Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Director of Engineering for the Mid-Atlantic region, based in Wilmington, DE or Harrisburg, PA, to lead the annual delivery of $50M+ in water and wastewater projects. You will guide a cross-functional engineering team, manage regulatory interactions, and drive efficiency across project delivery.

You will partner with regulators, rate departments, and operations to ensure designs meet safety, quality, and budget targets, while advancing Veolia’s strategic growth plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience managing water/wastewater design and construction projects.
• 5+ years leading and managing multi-faceted teams.
• Experience with design-build or alternative delivery methods and GMP/reimbursable contracting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver $50M+ of water/wastewater projects annually from concept to closeout.
• Hire, supervise and mentor the Engineering Team.
• Coordinate with rate department for capital plans and rate filings.
• Support business development and regulatory engagement at state/national levels.
• Ensure adherence to Environmental Health and Safety standards in designs.
• Manage environmental permitting with local staff.
• Oversee construction management to meet timelines and budgets.
• Drive efficiency in project delivery and alternate procurement methods.
• Provide monthly capital project status reports to management.
• Contribute to engineering design standards and processes.
