Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Regional Director, Strategic Accounts to lead a high-visibility region generating around $90M in annual revenue. You will shape account strategy, guide cross-functional teams, and drive adoption of CU, IA, and EA with data-driven insights.

Reporting to the VP, Strategic Accounts, you will coach directors, ensure forecast accuracy, and build partnerships with institutional leaders to accelerate growth across higher education publishers and digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, or related field.
• 7–10+ years of progressive sales experience in B2B, higher-education, SaaS, or enterprise roles.
• 3–5+ years of direct sales leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead complex institutional sales cycles.
• Strong commercial acumen with pricing and contract execution.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence.
• Experience with CRM and data-driven decision making.
• Deep understanding of higher education institutional needs.

Responsibilities

• Own regional revenue and account strategy for the territory.
• Translate vision into regional operating plans.
• Improve forecast accuracy and pipeline rigor.
• Lead development of strategic account plans using analytics.
• Guide complex deal strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Coach directors on negotiation and contract processes.
• Advance Inclusive Access, Equitable Access, and CU execution.
• Cultivate channel and bookstore partnerships.
• Partner with Solutions Sales and Customer Success for cohesive strategy.
