Job summary

KIPP NorCal seeks an Associate Director of Operational Leadership to strengthen district-wide operations across NorCal schools, reporting to the Director of Operational Leadership and Systems. The role focuses on Great Eight strategy, DSO leadership development, and regional coordination to deliver durable improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in K-12 school operations or related field with leadership roles.
• Experience designing and leading professional learning for adult learners.
• Experience coaching school-based leaders and partnering with their managers to strengthen performance.
• Experience leading change across multiple stakeholder groups, including school leaders, regional teams, and functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Owns strategy and results for a focused subset of the Great Eight.
• Analyzes performance across schools to identify meaningful variation and opportunities for improvement.
• Designs and oversees a regular performance-review cadence for school and regional leaders.
• Diagnoses performance gaps and aligns stakeholders on actions and follow-through.
• Evaluates strategies and recommends changes to the Director when broader shifts are required.
• Translates Great Eight strategies into school-level expectations and measures.
• Develops playbooks, templates, data views, and professional learning resources for priority practices.
• Coordinates DSO learning experiences across Communities of Practice and onboarding.
• Monitors DSO growth and equips School Leaders to develop DSOs.
• Establishes roles and decision points across DSOs, School Leaders, and Regional Operations.
• Resolves dependencies involving policy, data, systems, and capacity.
• Sequences communication and implementation support for diverse audiences.
