Regional Director, Sales will lead a team of Account Directors selling new business to a clearly defined list of customers already doing business with Five9.

The ideal candidate is one who has built and led sales Account Director/Management teams in the contact center software sales/Software as a Service (SaaS) space and has a strong track record closing revenue in the technology or software world while supporting/mentoring the direct reports that make up the sales team. This person needs to be an expert at positioning business value, selling enterprise software solutions, managing sales cycles, building relationships with key stakeholders in the prospective accounts, remaining aware and selling against competitor capabilities and threats.

This role will report directly to the SVP, Sales and be based in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and manage the activities of the Account Directors to ensure company revenue goals and objectives are exceeded.
  • Ensure each team member is prospecting, conducting discovery calls, organizing demonstrations, building a pipeline, and moving opportunities towards a win.
  • Prepare, coach, and support the sales team by phone and on-site in their sales meetings with customers.
  • Manage the closing of current-quarter deals while nurturing longer-term opportunities.
  • Coordinate and manage weekly one-on-one meetings with the team.
  • Conduct meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing improvement and best-practice sharing amongst the team.
  • Attract, hire, onboard, train, and retain top sales talent; managing attrition.
  • Display a thorough understanding of business needs and revenue potential for accounts.
  • Work with team members individually for ongoing development while always promoting a healthy team environment.
  • Prepare Account Directors and yourself for Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Successful track record in a high volume transaction sales environment with success in leading and closing at least 10 deals per year. Excellent C-level communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years enterprise software sales experience successfully selling solutions at the C-level with 3+ years of direct sales management experience.
  • Experience managing and building a team of successful SaaS and/or Cloud sales professionals.
  • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower team members to achieve objectives with a team approach.
  • Total comfort demonstrating SaaS/cloud-based software and discussing it with customers.
  • Strong track record of exceeding company sales quotas in a complex sales environment.
  • Proven expertise with teaching, coaching, and training sales methodologies.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills required.

Work Location: This role is fully remote for candidates who reside outside the 50-mile radius of our San Ramon office. For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Ramon location, this role is Hybrid and would require 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in our San Ramon office.

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the job across the United States. Additionally, the total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

All compensation and benefits are subject to the requirements and restrictions set forth in the applicable plan documents and any written agreements between the parties.

The US base salary range for this role is below.

$121,100-$309,200 USD
