Regional Director, Operations – Aviation Security Company

Location: Nationwide- open to candidates residing within a reasonable commuting distance of JFK, LGA, EWR, IAD airport.

Position Overview

The Regional Director of Airport Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing airport operations across a designated region. This position ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery while driving efficiency and performance across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Oversight: Provide direction and support to airport operations teams, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Operational Performance: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safety, security, and efficiency, meeting organizational and regulatory standards.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement regional strategies aligned with company objectives, ensuring operational goals are achieved.
• Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing teams, promoting professional growth and succession planning.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining the highest safety standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, vendors, and airport authorities.
• Budget Management: Oversee regional budgets, manage costs effectively, and identify opportunities for financial improvement.

Qualifications:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
• Bachelor’s degree in security or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Within the past five (5) years, must have successful experience managing a major security or screening operation (TSA regulated Title 49 Part 1500 series).
• Demonstrated success with a start-up operation preferred.
• AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) or Certified Member (CM) Security Certification required within six months of hire.
  • Current certification at time of hire is preferable.
