Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a Regional Director of Plant Operations to lead maintenance across multiple SoCal and Central California long-term care communities. You will direct on-site Maintenance Directors, manage preventive maintenance, and ensure Life Safety and code compliance.

Ideal candidates have hands-on nursing home maintenance experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with nursing, admin, and external vendors to deliver safe, compliant facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing home maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety regulations and building codes.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems including boilers, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proven leadership to diagnose, strategize, and implement facility-wide plans.
• Experience organizing and directing maintenance programs and staff.
• Ability to collaborate with other departments and external vendors.
• Excellent documentation and reporting habits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations and physical maintenance across multiple nursing home and long-term care facilities.
• Lead and support on-site Maintenance Directors and teams to ensure full regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
• Coordinate all maintenance services and activities with nursing, administration, and other departments.
• Direct and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program and ensure each facility maintains a complete and updated Life Safety Binder.
• Develop and maintain written policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, work logs, and operational reports.
• Monitor building systems including boilers, HVAC, compressors, generators, sprinkler systems, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Diagnose, evaluate, and resolve complex facility issues while developing strategic plans for improvements and compliance.
• Ensure all facilities meet or exceed local, state, and federal building codes and Life Safety requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan, manage, and oversee repairs, renovations, and capital improvements.
