Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking an accomplished Regional Director of Plant Operations to oversee maintenance across multiple nursing homes in SoCal and Central California. You will lead on-site Maintenance Directors, drive regulatory compliance, and coordinate cross-department maintenance activities to sustain safe, compliant facilities.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with boilers, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, and are adept at reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in a nursing home maintenance position.
• Thorough knowledge of Life Safety regulations and building codes.
• Hands-on experience with boilers, HVAC, generators, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building schematics.
• Strong leadership skills to diagnose, strategize, and implement facility-wide plans.
• Skilled in organizing and directing all maintenance programs and staff.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations and physical maintenance across multiple nursing home and long-term care facilities.
• Lead and support on-site Maintenance Directors and teams to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
• Coordinate all maintenance services and activities with nursing, administration, and other departments.
• Direct and oversee a preventive maintenance program and ensure Life Safety Binder is updated at each facility.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, manuals, and operational reports.
• Monitor building systems including boilers, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, and other MEP systems.
• Diagnose, evaluate, and resolve complex facility issues and plan improvements.
• Ensure facilities meet local, state, and federal building codes and Life Safety requirements.
