Regional Director of Operations - Dermatology - Seattle, WA

Position Summary

The Regional Director of Operations provides strategic direction and operational leadership for multiple dermatology clinics within a designated region. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinic operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, financial performance, and a superior patient and staff experience. The Director works in close partnership with clinical and administrative leaders to implement business strategies aligned with PhyNet Dermatology’s mission and growth objectives.

This role requires a dynamic leader who excels at managing complex healthcare operations, driving performance improvements, fostering team engagement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

Salary Range: $120K - $140K plus annual bonus

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations across multiple dermatology clinics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering consistent, high-quality patient care.
Supervise core functional areas including patient access, billing, scheduling, clinical operations, and administrative support.

Strategic Planning & Execution
Partner with executive and clinic leadership to develop and implement operational plans and business strategies tailored to each clinic's needs.
Analyze market trends, clinic performance, and patient demographics to inform growth initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Performance Management
Drive operational excellence by establishing performance metrics and accountability standards across clinics.
Monitor KPIs such as patient satisfaction, financial performance, staff productivity, and clinical outcomes, and implement improvement initiatives as needed.

Financial Oversight
Prepare and manage clinic budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Conduct variance analysis, monitor revenue cycles, and ensure compliance with fiscal policies.
Identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.

Team Leadership & Development
Hire, train, and develop clinic managers and administrative leaders to foster high-performing teams.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance reviews and support staff development and retention efforts.

Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure all clinics operate in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, licensing standards, and third-party payer requirements.
Uphold policies and procedures that support patient privacy, safety, and quality of care.

Physician & Stakeholder Relations
Serve as a liaison between clinic staff and physicians, ensuring alignment with clinical objectives and support for physician initiatives.
Cultivate strong relationships with referring providers, vendors, and community partners.

Facility & Technology Management
Recommend and oversee facility upgrades, equipment purchases, and technology enhancements to improve operational efficiency and patient experience.
Ensure clinic environments meet high standards of safety, cleanliness, and appearance.

Marketing & Outreach
Collaborate with marketing teams to execute local growth strategies, referral development plans, and community engagement efforts.
Represent clinics at professional conferences, networking events, and industry meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably within dermatology or a multi-site clinical setting.

Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and business planning.

Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive measurable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Strong working knowledge of healthcare compliance, payer requirements, and EMR systems.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to execute operational plans.

Results-oriented with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and service excellence.

High emotional intelligence and leadership presence.

Adept at conflict resolution, resource management, and process improvement.

Technologically proficient, with the ability to evaluate and implement clinical and operational systems.

Additional Requirements

Ability to travel within the assigned region as needed.
