Job summary

Pennypack Rehab and Care Center in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) to provide clinical leadership across skilled nursing facilities in the region. The RDON will mentor DONs and ADONs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive QAPI and quality-improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong knowledge of CMS requirements and PA DOH standards, travel between facilities, and a track record of developing nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Pennsylvania.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Previous experience in senior clinical leadership roles (DON/ROn/ADON).
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, CMS requirements, and PA DOH standards.
• Experience with state surveys, QAPI, infection prevention, clinical compliance, and quality improvement.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership teams.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel between facilities in the Philadelphia area as needed.
• Great Place to Work Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to Nursing leadership teams across facilities.
• Oversee nursing operations, clinical practices, staffing and resident care.
• Partner with facility leadership to implement clinical improvement initiatives.

• Support inspections, surveys, and Plans of Correction.
• Monitor quality measures, infection prevention, documentation, and safety.
• Lead QAPI and performance improvement initiatives.
• Review clinical indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor, coach, and develop DONs, ADONs and unit managers.
• Assist facilities with staffing and retention challenges.
• Collaborate with HR on recruitment and retention initiatives.
• Promote consistent nursing policies and standards across facilities.
• Conduct regular facility visits and leadership meetings.
• Maintain open communication with executive leadership.

Job Summary

A skilled nursing organization in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) to provide clinical leadership and oversight across skilled nursing facilities in the region.

The Regional Director of Nursing will work closely with facility administrators, Directors of Nursing, and clinical leadership to promote high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, strong clinical outcomes, and consistent nursing practices across assigned facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support to Directors of Nursing and nursing leadership teams.

• Maintain regular communication with executive leadership regarding clinical operations and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.

• BSN preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.

• Previous experience as a Director of Nursing, Regional Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or similar senior clinical leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, CMS requirements, and Pennsylvania Department of Health standards.

• Experience with state surveys, QAPI, infection prevention, clinical compliance, and quality improvement.

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership teams.

• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Ability to travel between assigned facilities throughout the Philadelphia area as needed.
