Harvard University is seeking a Regional Director of Major Gifts for the West Coast to manage a portfolio of 100+ alumni and parent prospects. You will craft sophisticated cultivation plans and solicit six- to seven-figure gifts, partnering with multiple Harvard units to maximize impact.

Extensive travel (approximately 35%) and onsite work in Cambridge, MA are required, with remote options for some candidates. Strong fundraising track record and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in university fundraising or relevant transferable experience.
• Ability to travel approximately 35% of working days.
• Work onsite in Cambridge, MA; remote status is possible for CA candidates.
• Experience in soliciting six- and seven-figure gifts.

Responsabilités

• Manage a targeted portfolio of 100+ West Coast alumni households.
• Meet or exceed goals for prospect visits, solicitations, gift closures, and dollars raised.
• Acquire deep understanding of prospects’ philanthropic interests and capacity.
• Develop and execute multi-step prospect strategies to reach six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Collaborate with Harvard College Fund, Gift Planning, Major Gift, and Principal Gift teams.
• Attend campus events and trainings to improve professional skills.
• Travel with senior leaders to secure visits and prepare pre-visit briefings.
• Coordinate strategies across Harvard Schools for multi-school prospects.
