Job summary

Alpha School is hiring for a Director of Membership and Engagement. The role is on-site in major U.S. cities and centers on growing the regional network through family referrals, events, and strategic relationships with public officials and business leaders.

You will design gatherings, recruit parent ambassadors, and partner with admissions to drive community-driven enrollment, with a focus on measurable growth and alumni engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building communities or relationship programs in K-12 education, membership, or a comparable network business, with measurable growth.
• Designed and ran 20+ gatherings across varying sizes with budget ownership.
• Opened and maintained relationships with public officials or business executives yielding concrete value.
• Disciplined CRM usage: logging relationships, attribution, follow-ups and actions.
• Willingness to live in or relocate to Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, or New York City.

Responsibilities

• Design and run the region's gathering calendar (open events, curated dinners, family retreats) with budget stewardship.
• Secure venues, hosts, and vendors; host the event live.
• Recruit current parents as ambassadors; share true stories and match them with prospective families.
• Build relationships with city officials and business leaders to support campus openings and student opportunities.
• Match enrolled families into parent circles and students into mentorships and internships; welcome alumni.
• Log every gathering and first-contact attribution in the CRM to track doors opened per family.
